Little Squirrels Community Nursery
Little Squirrels Community Nursery was constructed in 2002/2003 with funding provided jointly by the New Opportunities Fund and Sure Start Ryde.
The setting was designed to meet the needs of the community and provide a modern and spacious building within which the children could thrive. The site was large and provided suitable outside areas for children of all ages within the Early Years Framework.
Registered & Ofsted inspected
Our nursery is registered for a total of 53 children.
We offer childcare from birth to 5 years across out three rooms, ‘Little Learners’ which can cater for up to 12 children, ‘Little Explorers’ which takes up to 21 children and ‘Little Creators’ for the older children.
We have recently extended our ‘Little Explorers’ area with the assistance of an Early Years capital grant and have provided a dedicated changing area, separate children’s toilet and a larger floor area for play which will encourage the children to be more independent and creative.
Pre School
Our Pre School area is a large, central, light, open plan space with learning areas and is used by our older children. A quiet area is set up for small group work, mark making area, problem solving, role playing, arts and crafts areas are all set up within this open plan space.
Outside
Outside we have a covered, play space for year round outside play which leads onto our large, all weather safety surfaced area and grasses gardens to explore.
We all use our outside spaces whatever the weather and we supply wet weather suits and wellies for all children to wear.

The nursery is privately run and not affiliated to any Local Authority schools, we aim to provide quality, affordable childcare to all.
We also provide daycare for our local (Ryde) Children’s Centre.
